Home works in Andalucía: permits, licences and who to contact

Last checked: 13 October 2026

Planning work on your home? Three questions decide where to start:

  1. What is the work? A small job (a new kitchen, new windows) is different from an extension or a change to the structure.
  2. Where is the property? Local rules come from the ayuntamiento (town hall), so the same job can be treated differently in two towns.
  3. Is it a flat in a building with a community of owners? Shared areas, facades and structural work usually need the community’s agreement as well.
